Why Your Child Fail to Score? Understand "Why" Before You "Shout" at them!

Stop Critising Your ChildDon't yell at your Child

Understand "Why" Before You "Shout" at them!

How do you help your child who is struggling academically? Before we find the solution, let’s take a look at the main reasons that probably causes your child to struggle in the first place.

Lack of Parental Involvement

parents, teacher and student are interconnected in children education

Studies have shown that children are more motivated to succeed if parents are aware of their academic development. The three way communication has to exist between parent, teachers and the student. Parents should play a more active role by asking your child what he/she has learned at school each day and your child would be more than happy to feedback to you. The goal is to be interested in what your child is learning so that he/she will see the value in learning.

Make Sure They Go To Class

Don’t Skip Class

Academic excellence begins from school. There is no secret to achieving good results or success. It is simply hard work and understanding what is being taught in the classroom. So make sure that your child has a high attendance rate and don’t skip class unnecessarily.

Poor Study Skills

No Idea How To Study
<<  Why will this happen?
Often students have no idea how to study. Many students do only Input Learning – reading, studying, memorizing & listening are only Input Learning – that is why students get average marks. The key to accomplish good grades is Output Learning™ – the ability to retrieve and apply what you have studied or learnt. The key to here is applying what your child has learned at school. This could be achieved by encouraging your child to do short regular exercise and provides instant Output Learning to access your child’s level of understanding of a particular topic taught in school.

Lack of Motivation

Depressed and Discourage Child! Support Them with Magic Words

Motivation is important to help your child achieve success and confidence in studies. Reinforce the important of studies to your child and be persistent. You need to use affirmative sentences in order to let your child understand the importance of education. Don’t shout or yell or even criticize your child. It will only de-motivate him/her from study. Praise him/her when they do well and encourage them to try harder to excel. Remember that you too will have to sacrifice a lot when your child is studying. Unless you yourself don’t portray a good sign of sincerity, your child would not understand its importance.
